If Tears Could Build A Stairway:

If tears could build a stairway,

and memories were a lane,
We would walk right up to Heaven,

and bring you back again.

No farewell words were spoken,
No time to say goodbye,
You were gone before we knew it,
And only God knows why.

Our hearts still ache in sadness,
And secret tears still flow,
What it meant to lose you,
No one will ever know.

But know we know you want us,
To mourn for you no more,
To remember all the happy times,
Life still has much in store.

Since you’ll never be forgotten,
We pledge to you today,
A hallowed place within our hearts,
Is where you’ll always stay.

A Million Times:

You never said I'm leaving,
You never said good-bye,
You were gone before we knew it,
And only God knew why.

A million times we've needed you,
A million times we've cried.
If love alone could've saved you,
You never would have died.

In life we loved you dearly,
In death we love you still.
In our hearts you hold a place,
No one else will ever fill.

It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you didn't go alone.
Part of us went with you,
The day God took you home

The Star:

A light went out on Earth for me,

the day we said goodbye,
and on that day a star was born,

the brightest in the sky.

Reaching through the darkness

with its rays of purest white.

Lighting up the Heavens,

as it once lit up my life.

With beams of love to heal,
the broken heart you left behind.
Where always in my memory,
your lovely star will shine.

Family Chain: (Ron Tranmer)

We little knew that morning,
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you,
You did not go alone,
For part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.

You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide
And though we cannot see you,
You are always by our side.

Our family chain is broken
And nothing seems the same
But as God calls us one by one
The chain will link again.

I Am Free: (Shannon Lee Moseley)

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free,
I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call,
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day, to laugh,
To love, to work or play.
Tasks undone must stay that way
I’ve found that peace at the close of the day.

If parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah, yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish for you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savoured much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and share with me,
God wants me now, He set me free.

If I Should Go Tomorrow:

If I should go tomorrow,
it would never be goodbye,
For I have left my heart with you,
so don’t you ever cry.

The love that’s deep within me,
shall reach you from the stars,
You’ll feel it from the heavens,
and it will heal the scars.

How Grateful I Would Be To Just Have One More Day: (Kathy Parenteau)

If I could have just one more day and wishes did come true,

I’d spend every glorious moment side by side with you.

Recalling all the years we shared and memories we made,

how grateful I would be to have just one more day.

Where the tears I’ve shed are not in vain and only fall in bliss,
so many things I’d let you know about the days you’ve missed.

I wouldn’t have to make pretend you never went away,
how grateful I would be to have just one more day.

When that day came to a close and the sun began to set,
a million times I’d let you know I never will forget.

The heart of gold you left behind when you entered Heaven’s gate,
how grateful I would be to have just one more day.

Gods Garden: (D.W. McConway)

God looked around his garden,
and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth,

and saw your tired face.

He put his arms around you,

and lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful,

he always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering,

he knew that you were in pain.

He knew that you would never

get well on earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough,

and the hills were hard to climb.

So he closed your weary eyelids

and whispered “Peace be thine.”

It broke our hearts to lose you,

but you did not go alone...

For part of us went with you,

the day God called you home.

Prayer:

Lord, make us instruments of your peace.

Where there is hatred, let us sow love.

Where there is injury, pardon.

Where there is discord, union.

Where there is doubt, faith.

Where there is despair, hope.

Where there is darkness, light.

Where there is sadness, joy.

O divine master, grant that we may not so much seek

To be consoled as to console,

To be understood as to understand,

To be loved as to love.

For it is the given that we receive.

It is in pardoning that we are pardoned.

And it is in dying that we are born into eternal life.

My Angel: (CJR)

I wake up in the morning,
and I look up to the sky.
I wonder why he took you,
before I said good-bye.

I look up to the stars at night,
and know you’re looking down.
I’d like to think you’re proud of me,
but I’m just stumbling around.

I crawl in bed and close my eyes,
and realize that you’re gone.
Then comes the fears and then the tears,
and life just seems so wrong.

I glance up at the heavens,
and I know you’re flying by.
My Angel’s watching over me,
I’m happy as I cry.

God Saw You:

God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be.

So He wrapped his arms around you,
and whispered, "Come to me".

You didn't deserve what you went through,
So He gave you rest.

God's garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best.

And when I saw you sleeping,
So peaceful and free from pain,
I could not wish you back
To suffer that again.

Footprints In The Sand:

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord, many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints.

Other times there was only one.

This bothered me because I noticed during the low periods of my life when I was Suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord, ‘You promised me, Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always.

But I noticed during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of prints in the sand.

Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?  The Lord replied, ‘the times when you have seen only one set of footprints it was then that I carried you’

When Tomorrow Starts Without Me: (David M. Romano)

When tomorrow starts without me and I am not here to see,
if the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me.
I know how much you love me as much as I love you,
and each time you think of me I know you’ll miss me too.

But when tomorrow starts without me please try to understand,
that Jesus came and called my name and took me by the hand.
He said my place is ready in heaven far above,
and that I have to leave behind all those I dearly love.

But as I turned to walk away a tear fell from my eye,
for all my life I’d always thought it wasn’t my time to die.
I had so much to live for and so much yet to do,
It seems almost impossible that I was leaving you.

I thought of all the yesterdays the good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared and all the fun we had.
If I could have stayed for just a little while,
I’d say goodbye and kiss you and maybe see you smile.

But then I fully realise that this could never be,
for emptiness and memories would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things that I’d miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you and when I did my heart was filled with sorrow.

But when I walked through Heaven’s gate and felt so much at home,
as God looked down and smiled at me from his great golden throne.
He said this is eternity and all I’ve promised you,
today your life on earth is past but here it starts anew.

I promise no tomorrow but today will always last,
and since each day’s the same here there’s no longing for the past.
So when tomorrow starts without me don’t think we’re far apart,
for every time you think of me I’m right here in your heart.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
A time to be born and a time to die,
A time to plant and a time to uproot,
A time to kill and a time to heal,
A time to tear down and a time to build,
A time to weep and a time to laugh,
A time to mourn and a time to dance,
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
A time to embrace and a time to refrain,
A time to search and a time to give up,
A time to keep and a time to throw away,
A time to tear and a time to mend,
A time to be silent and a time to speak,
A time to love and a time to hate,
A time for war and a time for peace.
